Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired

That pretty much sums up my last week. If you'll recall, we began last week with a trip to the dr's for Austin and by the start of this past weekend all 5 of us were sick. Well, by that point, Austin was feeling better; it was the rest of us that felt like crap from all of his leftover germs. It's funny, my kids can be sick with the exact same virus and all 3 of them will respond differently. With Austin, anytime he gets sick it goes right to his lungs and his asthma flares up big time. Audrey will usually complain that her ears are bothering her; and like clockwork she's woken me up at 4ish the last 2 nites crying about her aching ears. Lexi usually has gunky eyes and they look especially bad this time with one even looking like she has a shiner. If they don't clear up by tomorrow evening I will be calling the doctor for our 4th visit in less than a month.
Can I whine a little more? I have yet to find a cold med that I can take due to my thyroid so I'm resigned to taking Tylenol for some relief. At least it eases the ache in my head enough to feel like I haven't been hit in the head by a Mac truck. I can't wait for everyone to be healthy again so I can get a decent nite's sleep! I was asleep by 8:30 on Saturday nite thinking that a solid nite's sleep would do wonders for me. However, I was awakened at least a dozen times from the phone, my kids, husband, and dog. I cannot win!
Oooo, oooo! On a brighter note, last week was my first scheduled week at Meijer. I even pulled in a paycheck... a whopping $2.96. I really do think I'll like my job, so far so good, it's just the fact that I'll have to work 43+ hours to make the same amount I did cleaning the h2o store in 5 that is driving me crazy. I think for the most part, I'll be working 5-10pm, 3 days a week so hopefully I'll make enough for groceries and gas every week.
Finally, I've been helping my mom move all week from her condo into my grandparents'. I love my mom very much and she's one of my best friends but I seriously think she has issues. She has more shitake living by herself than my family of 5 has combined. Whereas my mother can't bear to part with any of her beloved treasures- because you never know when she may need something (like the collection of heavy metal fire trucks that my kids might want to play with some day, even though they have yet to show interest in them.)- all of my shitake is completely driving me insane! I cannot wait for spring to come so that I can have a major garage sale. I think I may have scared off my future (hopefully;) sister-in-law for good when her boyfriend's psychotic sister called demanding he come help his psychotic mom move because she was having a major meltdown- now that's a quality family to marry into.
You know it's bad when you wonder if slipping a little Bailey's into your morning coffee makes you an alcoholic. So grab your mug of coffee and toast with me. Here's to a better week!
